FACT NUMBER 1
During the 1962-63 season almost three months of the season were lost through bad
weather and the F. A. Cup tie between Lincoln City and Coventry City was postponed a
record 15 times. Coventry manager Jimmy Hill suggested they play the match in Dublin!
FACT NUMBER 2
Floodlights were erected at Sincil Bank on the 20th. January 1962 and the first
opponents to play under the lights…..The Cobblers! The match ended 0-0
FACT NUMBER 3
In 1979 manager Willie Bell resigned to take up the post as coach to the Campus
Crusaders for Christ in the USA.
