FACT ONE
*In October 1980 Peter Coyne became the first Crewe player to hit a hat-trick since 1976 and the first to hit four goals I 15 years for the club when Hereford United were beaten 5-0. He was presented with a colour TV by a local company.
FACT TWO
*Bradford City beat Crewe 6-0 in April 1979, However Alexandra reserves beat Bradford City reserves by the same score on the same day.
FACT THREE
*Manager Ernie Tagg sacked himself in October 1970 stating the club needed a younger man in charge
