*Mansfield Town joined the football League at their 7thattempt in 1931
*After scoring 85 goals in 75 games for the Stags Ted Harston moved to Liverpool for a large fee but after four games and two goals suffered a broken leg and never played league football again.
*Manager Jack Hickling 1928-1933 instigated the ‘egg & Milk’ pre match drink for the players he also arranged wrestling matches at the ground although the directors refused to allow a ‘man v Bullock’ wrestling match!
*During the 1981-82 season Mansfield had points deducted for playing an ineligible player,. his name? Colin Calderwood! Apparently his registration did not reach the Football League in time
*Between 1931-and 1958 The Stags moved between division Three North and Division Three South twice.
