Every Monday for the 2018/19 season we will be remembering an ex-cobbler who has played for us and the opponents of that Saturdays game. We will be showing you their record and their story. We will be asking you for your memories of that player. We will also be asking you to nominate a player for Cobblers Past Ex-Cobbler of the Week.
FACTS
Paul failed to make the first team at Birmingham but on joining Northampton he became a first team regular at full back.
Injury and the resigning of Barry Tucker saw the defender lose his place and he was allowed to move on to Crewe where his career ended through injury when he twice broke down once in training and once in a reserve game.
He moved into insurance then finance.
When Kevan Broadhurst was manager of Northampton he offered Paul a job as coach as he is fully qualified but it was at a time his son was a youth player at Birmingham and he wanted to watch him play.
