Ex-Cobbler of the week- 20/08/18

Every Monday for the 2018/19 season we will be remembering an ex-cobbler who has played for us and the opponents of that Saturdays game. We will be showing you their record and their story. We will be asking you for your memories of that player. We will also be asking you to nominate a player for Cobblers Past Ex-Cobbler of the Week.

Facts

Scott came to Northampton as a free agent and repaid manager Colin Calderwood’s faith in him by netting two goals on his debut v Swansea one in the first ten minutes.

He became a prolific scorer for the club netting over 50 league and cup goals in his two and a half seasons at Sixfields.

When Colin Calderwood moved on John Gorman took over for a short spell and Scott together with the two other strikers were transfer listed.

Stuart Gray took them off the list when he took over, but Scott did move on to Wycombe for £70,000. Not bad considering he was 33.

He returned on loan during the 2008-09 season and later had a third spell at Leyton Orient.

Scott holds the individual record at Wycombe for most league goals in a season with 25 in 2007-08

While at Barnet Scott had a trial with Ancona it the Italian League but it came to nothing.

Scott sits on the PFA management committee

In 2015 Scott was made player/coach at Wealdstone

He was 42 when he played for Cheshunt their oldest ever player

Today he is the coach of Borehamwood youth team
