Ben Tozer Utility player Ben Tozer originally signed for the Cobblers on loan from Newcastle United, making his debut in the League Cup win over Liverpool in 2010. He signed permanently in June 2011, going on to make 173 appearances as well as finding the net on 6 occasions in a 5-year spell at the club. He joined Newport in 2016 and he stayed for two years, playing 60 times, scoring 4 goals.

Regan Poole Defender Regan Poole joined Northampton Town on a one-year loan deal from Manchester United in the summer of 2017. He could play as a defender or in midfield and made 22 appearances during his spell in the claret and white. He started his career with Newport County and made 15 appearances before signing for Manchester United in 2015.

Sam Foley Sam Foley joined Northampton Town from Port Vale in summer 2017. He missed the start of his first season at the club through injury, but to date he has made over 40 appearances for the club. Foley played for Newport between 2009 and 2012, joining originally on loan. He made more than 120 appearances and scored 36 goals during his time at Rodney Parade.

Ryan Gilligan Midfielder Ryan Gilligan signed for Northampton Town in 2005 after the club took over the third year of his scholarship from Watford, having been scouted by then manager Colin Calderwood. He was at the club for seven years made over 180 appearances, scoring 20 times. He signed for Newport on loan from the Cobblers where he made 6 appearances during his short stint in South Wales.

Marlon Jackson Marlon Jackson is a striker who signed for Northampton Town on loan from Bristol City in 2011. His stay at the club was brief however and he scored once in just six appearances for the club. Jackson joined Newport County in 2016 where he stayed for two years and made 28 appearances.
