MORECAMBE
Globe Arena (capacity 6,476)
Morecambe moved to the Globe Arena in 2010, having previously played at Christie Park since 1921. The stadium itself is named after the company who built it, Globe Construction. It also has one of the stands named after the club’s current Chairman, Peter McGuigan, which dominates the stadium.
When the stadium was built, the intention was to try and give it a similar look and feel to Christie Park. So the Peter McGuigan Stand is the main seating area, and then there are three terraces of various sizes, which in itself is unusual for a recently built stadium.
Away fans visiting the Globe Arena are located in the Bay Radio Terrace, with a typical allocation of around 1,400. However, for bigger away followings, part of the Peter McGuigan Stand can be allocated.
Car Parks
The car park at the stadium is reserved for staff, players, and matchday officials. There is a local school that the club recommends for away fans, and also street parking.
We’ve compiled a list of car parks, below, near to the Globe Arena for hassle free parking while you’re at the match.
Away Pubs
There are a number of away friendly pubs near the Globe Arena, all of which cater to different needs. Please note, however, that some bars require club colours to be covered and some do not allow children.
However, rather than take our word for it, we want to give you the view from other away fans who have visited the Globe Arena.
Over the coming months we will be building up fans reviews of the best places to drink on an away trip to Morecambe, and you’ll be able to find them here.
In the meantime, we’ve included a map below with all the best away pubs highlighted for you.
