DEADLINE DAY- Cobblers sign striker Marvin Sordell.

Northampton Town have signed striker Marvin Sordell on loan from Burton Albion for the rest of the season.

27 year old Sordell began his career at Watford, scoring 27 goals in 58 starts, the majority of those goals and appearances coming in the Championship.

A £3 million move to Bolton followed where he scored 8 times in 16 starts and another 13 substitute appearances.

Eight more goals followed in a loan spell at Charlton Athletic before he spent time with Colchester United and Coventry City.

Sordell moved to Burton two years ago and has made 62 starts for the Brewers.

"He is an experienced striker and just the sort of player we were looking to add to the squad," said manager Keith Curle.

"He is a good age, he has a fantastic pedigree having played a lot of football at Championship level, he has good quality, his movement is excellent and he has shown throughout his career he can score goals at every level.

"We are delighted to have been able to bring someone of Marvin's calibre to the club and we are looking forward to working with him."
