Academy players Jay Williams and Camron McWilliams have both signed 18 month professional contracts with Northampton Town, and there is an option for a further year in the club's favour on both players.
The Northampton born 18 year old Williams, who has played in both central defence and central midfield, joined the Northampton Town Academy as an under 13 and attended Kingsthorpe College.
He has so far made six first team appearances, and manager Keith Curle was delighted to have handed Williams his first professional deal.
"Jay has deserved his contract with his performances not just in the first team games, but playing for the under 18s and in training too.
"He is a very mature lad, he has captained the under 18 side this season and has fitted seamlessly in to the first team squad as well.
"Jay is very much home grown, and full credit must not only go to Jay, but to the Academy and the coaches and staff involved in his development."
Meanwhile, fellow Northampton born defender Camron McWilliams has joined his older brother Shaun among the ranks of professional players at the PTS Academy Stadium. The younger McWilliams has also been with the club from the age of under 13.
"Cam is a player who has really impressed us," said manager Keith Curle.
"He is aggressive and he is mobile and he can play in a number of different positions.
"He has looked at home in a first team environment and we think he is the sort of player who will continue to develop and flourish and we are delighted that both young players have committed their futures to the club.
"This is where the hard work starts for both of them, we believe they both have a lot of potential to keep improving. That will be their challenge, to do just that and to earn themselves a regular spot in the first team squad.
"It is always good to see young players join the professional ranks, even more so given they have been with the club's Academy for a long time.
"Full credit must go to the club's Academy coaches and staff for the quality of player they are producing and they should be hugely proud of their work. The boys too should be proud of their progress so far, but there is a long way to go!"
Camron McWilliams made history in November when he joined his brother Shaun as they became the first set of brothers to play for the Northampton Town first team squad since the 1930s when they appeared in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Fulham under 21s.
Williams and McWilliams become the sixth and seventh players in the current Northampton Town professional squad to have come through the club's Academy.
