PETE SMITH Pete played in goal for the Cobbler’s third & fourth teams during the early 1960’s and after winding down his playing days in local football he became a physiotherapist. During the mid-seventies he became Physio to the Cobbler’s reserves and sometimes the first team. In the early 1980’s he Ran the youth team with his good friend Roly Mills. After a spell as manager of Long Buckby he became a referee reaching class one in the minimum 2 seasons. He set up his own business as an employment agent and at the same time he became a Justice of the peace. A first class entertainer he was the MC at both the County Ground and Sixfields as well as Wembley for the Cobbler’s play off final v Grimsby Town in 1998.
