Northampton Town are very pleased to have secured the signature of Scunthorpe United striker Kevin van Veen for an undisclosed fee. The 26 year old Dutchman who scored 23 goals in 71 starts for the Iron, started his career in the PSV Academy before moving to FC Oss ahead of his switch to England in 2015. Van Veen arrives at Sixfields in excellent form, having scored six times for the fourth placed Iron in his last 11 appearances, a run going back to December 5th. "Kevin is a quality striker at this level who offers a goal threat," said manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. "I know all about his attributes and his quality, and we have all worked very hard to bring him to the club. "He can score the spectacular and he can create goals out of nothing. "Kevin is the sort of player who you can class as a versatile attacker, he can play in a number of positions and I know he will prove an excellent addition to the squad. "He fits in perfectly with the way we are looking to play and we are very excited about his arrival. "He is an excellent age with a lot of experience of League 1 and Kevin is a player we are delighted to welcome to the club." Van Veen has signed a two and a half year contract at Sixfields.
