Northampton Town have signed Nottingham Forest winger Gboly Ariyibi on loan for the rest of the season. The 22 year old, 6 feet tall American winger began his career at Leeds United, before joining Chesterfield in August 2014. Ariyibi made 70 appearances for the Spireites, impressing and catching the eye of Nottingham Forest who secured his signature during the january 2017 transfer window. He joined Milton Keynes Dons on loan at the start of the season, scoring seven times in 23 starts and five substitute appearances, becoming a fans favourite with some of his wing play. Ariyibi returned to Forest earlier this week and has now made the move to Sixfields. "Gboly is an addition we are exicted to make," said manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. "He is a player who has impressed me whenever I have seen him. He is direct, and offers some really explosive pace and width and he is very good in attacking one against one situations. "He is the sort of player who can get the supporters out of their seats and he gives us another dimension to our attacking play." Help #selloutsixfields for Saturday's game with MK Dons!
