The Cobblers boss looks back on Saturday's win over Southend United

JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK HAPPY WITH WIN OVER SOUTHEND

Cobblers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was a happy man as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-1 home win over Southend.

“I’m very happy with the win,” he said.

“In the first half we huffed and puffed without really getting into the game. We played too many long balls and it looked like we were playing the occasion more than the game.

“in the second half we were the opposite, we passed the ball more, we were more in control and we could have scored two or three more goals.

“It’s been a frustrating time for Alex Revell but he’s come back energetic and he took his goal really well.

“We needed some fresh faces in this week and the two new boys gave us a lift.

“We are still looking to strengthen and you will probably see a few more going out. It’s not easy to do business but we are trying hard. We are not going to pay over the odds for anyone and it has to be the right figure. We want players who can grow here at the club.”
