COBBLERS HOPEFUL THAT LEON BARNETT MAY RETURN AT PORTSMOUTH
Leon Barnett is battling to be fit for Saturday’s trip to Portsmouth while fellow defender Aaron Pierre remains sidelined.
“Aaron was a big miss for us against Doncaster but there is a chance we might have Leon back for Saturday,” said boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“It is always going to be a risk playing John-Joe O'Toole twice in three days but at the moment we need him.
“We are a stronger side with John-Joe in it but he is still playing with pain and you have to remember he is coming back from a long-term groin injury and then he also had an ankle problem as well.
“He’s not fully fit but you only get match fit by playing matches.”
Matt Crooks returns after suspension while the Cobblers boss is also hopeful that Daniel Powell may also be fit after his hamstring injury.
